This may be a dumb question but, do spent casings stick to a magnet?

I know the shotgun range at Atterbury has some kind of magnet on a stick to choice up shotgun shells, and so y'all don't take to contsantly bend over. The shotgun shells might have steel in them though??

I'm talking more than like .22lr and handgun brass volition these stick to a magnet??

I'chiliad talking more like .22lr and handgun brass will these stick to a magnet??

    No.

I have not personally used one, but at that place are products like this: Brass Wizard™ that merits to be able to pick up brass. I typically just pick it up by hand though.

Any brass or non-ferric metallic will non go picked up past a magnet. Steel cased ammo and part of the shotgun hulls are ferric and volition cling to a magnet.

There is a thing called the Nut wizard. Nut Sorcerer: Pick Upwardly Tool That Gathers Basics, Fruits, Acorns, Sweet Glue Assurance

It is weird but it works on 380 and upwardly cases. Not much faster than a broom and dust pan.

For the 22 we simply use a grit pan and broom.

In that location are several types of brass catchers.

Some attach to the firearm itself. Others are ready next to where you lot are firing from. They can exist made out of a delicate garment bag (bras). I made a minor one from a kids angling net. Makes information technology easier than picking it out of the grass.

Some people lay down a tarp and utilise pvc pipes to make a frame.

I commonly found that 18 and 20 yr old kids will work fine for me. If I take 'em, they bag 'em

I normally just bend at the knees, stoop down, then I "pinch" the spent brass using my index finger and opposable thumb. I practice this until all of the brass has been retrieved from the ground.

Sears usually has the brass magnets in the same aisle as the board stretchers and the relative bearing grease. :D
